During pregnancy, the body goes through numerous changes. While reorienting to an evolving and changing body, this can cause physical and mental stress. Prenatal yoga is a nurturing practice to help balance the body and mind, assisting in a mother’s integration during and after pregnancy.
Prenatal yoga focuses on specific poses for pregnant women that support their strength and flexibility. Additionally, this mind-body practice can encourage a development of supportive breathing and relaxation techniques, which prepare a mother for the time of labor.
This training will greatly assist your own pregnancy journey, or equip you with the knowledge to guide other mamas and greatly support their journeys with this practice.
This training is for…
Yoga Teachers
Doulas
Midwives
Integrative Healers
Students looking to deepen their own practice
Your Instructor: Rusti Gilbert
Rusti is a 200hr YTT Certified yoga instructor, RYPT, and Doula Educated. She developed a prenatal yoga program at a birthing center, in addition to teaching prenatal yoga online, in person, and one on one sessions. She is a mama herself and has a plethora of knowledge to share this June!
With the help of some pretty special teachers, Rusti has learned along the way the importance of not only the physical practice, but the non-physical--- the mind, the breath and the intention in all aspects of life. As a teacher, her heart lies in creating a space for others to dive into their own intentions, their breath, and to live the best version of themselves inside & outside of the studio walls.
Student Testimonials
“Taking Rusti‘s prenatal yoga training was extremely transformative for my skills both as a yoga teacher and also a birth worker. At the time of taking this training, I was new to my practice as a doula. Her teachings brought me so much confidence in guiding pregnant bodies and connecting with mothers and parents in a meaningful way. I’ve now been teaching prenatal yoga for almost 3 years! These teachings are helpful for any person looking to support pregnant women, or on the other hand, any yoga teacher that wants to ensure they can provide a safe practice to any pregnant bodies that walk through the doors of their traditional yoga classes. There is a massive need for more prenatal instructors in our area, and Rusti’s approach and philosophy as a mom and seasoned yoga instructor makes for an incredible introduction to the world of supporting pregnancy and birth.” - Francesca P.
“I participated in ReUnify’s Prenatal Yoga intensive during the 3rd trimester of my pregnancy. Rusti was extremely knowledgeable and supportive. She taught us from a place of true understanding and compassion. Even though I do not plan to teach yoga, it gave me a better understanding of caring for the pregnant and postpartum body for myself and others.” - Ashley C.
“I took Rusti's prenatal class as a doula hoping to involve more movement and breath options to my clients prenatally to supplement my practice... but left with SO MUCH more! Rusti truly held a sacred container for all of her students no matter where they were on their journey in learning about pregnancy and how to support it holistically. Nothing was off limits, it felt completely judgement-free, guest speakers were thoughtfully selected, and overall it was just REALLY fun! I left with more knowledge on all things birth and new friends. For anyone on the fence like I was, don't be.” -Britt
“Rusti brings so much knowledge and softness to this training. She has a deep understanding on how to fully support all stages of pregnant bodies and to help foster the relationship with baby. I learned so much about not only movement, but the medical side of what is going on in the body during pregnancy. Even as someone who has not been pregnant, the focus on connection to the body and understanding how to build this connection with baby was very powerful. I am now offering a prenatal yoga class at the health clinic where I work and couldn't be happier to share this practice. “ - Jill K
